This is a delicious and nutrient-dense smoothie. The fruits contain carbohydrates and vitamins, the carrot leaves provide fiber and minerals, and the nuts are rich in healthy fats. Carob powder enhances and balances the flavors of all the components for a truly fantastic taste!
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 pears (Conference or Abbot)
- a handful of fresh carrot leaves
- 2 tbsp carob powder
- 2 tbsp hazelnut grits
- just enough water or plant-based milk
Put the fruit in a blender after peeling, cleaning, and coarsely cutting it up. Mix in the carob powder.
Remove the tender part of the carrot leaves and place in the blender. Add a little water or vegetable milk and blend until creamy.
Pour into a bowl, sprinkle with hazelnut grits and serve immediately. Enjoy with a spoon.
