Ingredients

Organic Valerian Root

The 20 mg of organic valerian root extract per serving ties everything together—taking Zen Bliss’ chill-inducing ability up a notch. Like passionflower extract, valerian root also increases the amount of GABA—reminder: a neurotransmitter responsible for feelings of relaxation—available in your body. This, in turn, explains the numerous studies linking valerian root with reduced stress, anxiety symptoms, and improved sleep quality. According to this 2021 study, for instance, participants undergoing hemodialysis found that they had significant reductions in anxiety symptoms after taking valerian root one hour before bedtime for one month, compared with placebo. Another 2011 study found that postmenopausal women who'd ingested valerian extract twice a day for four weeks reported significantly improved sleep quality compared with those who took a placebo.

Organic Rose Hip Extract

You understand the appeal of applying rosehip oil to your skin. It may help increase collagen production and skin elasticity, promoting a glowing, youthful-looking complexion. That's clear. But taking rosehip extract (note: Zen Bliss contains 20 mg of organic rosehip extract per serving) for relaxation? How does that work? To understand that, it'll be helpful for you to first know this: anxiety is thought to be correlated with a lowered total antioxidant state. Logically speaking, it thus stands to reason that antioxidant supplementation may help ease anxiety symptoms. And that's where rosehip extract comes in. Rosehip seeds contain high levels of polyphenols, carotenoids, and vitamins C and E—all of which have powerful antioxidant properties. Of note is vitamin C, which is known to reduce cortisol (aka “the stress hormone”) levels, improve stress tolerance, and fight sleep deprivation.

Organic Chamomile Extract

Drinking chamomile tea for relaxation may seem incredibly cliché, but the truth is that it works! Multiple studies have shown chamomile—a flower in the daisy family, used therapeutically for thousands of years, by the way—effective in aiding relaxation and helping with anxiety, depression, and insomnia. A 2016 study published in Phytomedicine, for instance, found long-term chamomile use to significantly reduce moderate-to-severe symptoms of generalized anxiety disorders. Also, while chamomile doesn't make you drowsy, it could improve your sleep quality once you hit the sack. In this study, individuals who consumed chamomile extract twice daily for 28 days experienced one-third less night-time awakening and fell asleep 15 minutes faster than those who did not consume the extract. So … with all that said, it only makes sense that each serving of Zen Bliss is designed to deliver 100 mg of calming, stress-relieving organic chamomile extract.

Magnesium

And, finally, 20 mg of organic valerian root extract per serving ties everything together—taking Zen Bliss’ chill-inducing ability up a notch.

Organic Passionflower Extract

Every serving of Zen Bliss contains 30 mg of organic passionflower extract. Why passionflower extract, though? Despite its relative obscurity (compared to other relaxation “big names”, like chamomile or lavender—which you’ll get to meet in a minute), you shouldn’t belittle passionflower extract’s soothing properties. This natural herb has been shown to boost the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in your brain. For the uninitiated, GABA is a naturally occurring amino acid that works as a neurotransmitter. When GABA attaches to a protein in your brain (known as a GABA receptor), it produces a calming effect. Meaning? All that's to say is that passionflower extract may make you feel like your brain has been wrapped in fleece. Pure and unadulterated bliss. But does research agree? Yes, it does. According to this study, patients scheduled for surgery (undoubtedly one of the most nerve-racking moments of their lives) who consumed passionflower reported less anxiety than those who received a placebo.

FAQ

Does Zen Bliss contain sugar?

Unlike other "relaxation beverages" available on the market, Zen Bliss does not contain sugar. Instead, organic Stevia—a zero-calorie, low glycaemic, non-GMO, plant-derived sweetener—lends its sweetness to every sip. That means you can lounge with Zen Bliss (on the couch, by the pool, with friends) without worrying about the health dangers of calorie-dense sugar or artificial sugar.

Is it safe for kids and pregnant or nursing women?

Zen Bliss is not intended for use by children or pregnant or nursing women. That's because the safety of certain ingredients—like chamomile and valerian root extract—hasn't been well-tested in these demographics. That said, it's always a good idea to speak with a licensed healthcare provider before starting any new dietary supplement (including Zen Bliss!)

Will it knock me out?

Not at all! Zen Bliss was formulated to calm without sedating. That means you get to kick back and relax—without worrying about overwhelming feelings of drowsiness or sleepiness. And when you're ready to fall asleep, Zen Bliss will be your ultimate support system. All ingredients have been carefully and mindfully selected to enhance your sleep quality.

How will it make me feel?

Zen Bliss will help take the edge off. It’ll help you feel calm and collected—perfect for kickstarting your evening wind-down routine (or for tackling more work if need be).

When should I drink Zen Bliss?

Put simply, anytime you need to feel calm and relaxed. You could drink it in the morning (to start your day on the right note), after a particularly stressful work meeting (ugh), or after work to decompress—it’s up to you.

This stuff works wonders and is essential to my nighttime routine. I get restful sleep and wake refreshed!

Love the flavor - it’s not bitter like similar drinks. Which means I’m also more likely to hydrate!! Mixes well, no problems there. A great way to sip and soothe the body and mind!
