- How long will it take to feel the benefits of these ALA capsules?
Results will vary with each individual. This can depend on what benefits you are looking to receive, and how progressed your symptoms or illness may be.
- What is the difference between R-ALA and S-ALA?
R-ALA is the naturally occurring form, but it has to be stabilized in order to not denature. It can either be stabilized using sodium, or it can be stabilized using the S-form. S-ALA is synthesized naturally in a lab from octanoic acid, which is a fatty acid in coconut oil.
- Does the R-alpha-lipoic acid have to be taken with food? What are the instructions for taking it?
As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily with a meal, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Is this formula stabilized?
Both of the ALAs that we offer are of great quality and stabilized! The only difference is how they are stabilized with the Sodium Stabilized version being stabilized with sodium and the R-ALA being stabilized with S-ALA.

I decided to try Dr. Danielle's Alpha Lipoic Acid based on reviews attesting to it's ability to relieve pain. A year ago I had an extremely painful injection of cortizone for plantar faciitis in my right foot. The cortizone did alleviate the plantar pain, but within months I was experiencing what felt like cycles of nerve related pain in other areas of the same foot. As I'm currently pursuing the true cause of this pain, I experienced pain relief within the first week of taking Dr. Danielle's Alpha Lipoic Acid--taking 300 mg in the morning and another 300 mg in the evening. According to what I have read, 600 mg a day is considered the maximum dose. I can honestly say that this product has greatly improved my quality of life!

I have neuropathy, i.e. chronic nerve pain from the ribs down! On a scale of 1 to 10 the pain I suffer with is 8! The Alpha Lapoic Acid I take twice a day; 2 caps in the morning an hour after breakfast and 1 an hour after my PM meal (I eat only twice a day.) along with a cap of L-Carnitine takes the edge off the pain noticeably so, thankfully! Something else, that helps is to minimize sugar intake; get regular exercise and drink plenty of water!

I have been using Alpha Lipoic Acid for about two years. I use it for the idiopathic neuropathy in my feet. I do not have the pain and "electric" shocks in my feet that I used to have. I like it because it is all natural.
Purchased this product for the first time recently for peripheral neuropathy caused by treatments for Hepatitus C some years ago. It seems to have the correct ingredients and my doctor suggested I take it. I sure hope it helps.

I have neuropathy in my legs and feet. I have taken alpha lipid acid for years with the sodium. It helps the numbness at night. That's when l have the most problem. I haven't been able to get the one with sodium from you lately so l have to take more of the regular one. I wouldn't be without it.
My healthcare provider recommended I start taking Alpha Lipoic Acid to help regulate my blood sugar and reduce symptoms of some neuropathy in my feet. I did lots of research and found the rave reviews of Dr. Danielle's ALA, so I chose it as a quality pure source of both S-ALA and R-ALA. Don't waste your time with all those ads that promise to help your painful neuropathy... try and stick with Dr. Danielle Alpha-Lipoic Acid! I have been taking ALA for some time now and find that it greatly relieves the neuropathy in my feet. The nightly burning sensation is no longer a recurring problem. A previous product that I used contained only S-ALA. The combination with R-ALA in this product seems to work alot better.
